The story of a photographer:

At an early age I was introduced to photography by my dad. He was the high school photographer for his yearbook committee and was always toting around a camera. Every few years he upgraded to a new body or added lenses to his collection and involved me in his selection process and eventually taught me mechanics and logistics of photography. One of my favorite childhood memories was when the pictures finally arrived in the mail after sending out the 35mm film to be processed. It was like unveiling a mystery gift every time!

In the summer as a tween I tagged along with the local photographers to help on wedding shoots. With my friends, we spent nights in their dad's portrait studio, the iconic "Home of the Picture Grace" in Enstrom's Studio. We'd have our own senior photo sessions with all the fancy props and backdrops during our slumber parties.

In high school I was fortunate enough to take a few photography classes, where I learned about processing my own film and the art of darkroom developing. College years led me to work in a one hour photo shop developing film and processing photos as a color corrector. I also worked as a photographer and sales in a portrait studio.

Post-college plans brought me to South America where I fell in love with travel and landscape photography. Rare was there a day when I left the house without a camera. I was surrounded by photo opps that came with living in the Andes Mountains, traveling to rainforests on the weekends, and soaking in the beauty of the coastal scenes. I haven't counted, but I'm willing to bet that I have over a thousand prints taken from The Galapagos Islands alone (these were pre-smartphone days, of course).

Fast forward to eight years ago when I finally established my own photography business. I continue to love every minute of my side job, fueling my photography fire and capturing memories, and bring out the best in my clients.
